The Miami Valley Homeschool Prom is a long-standing tradition bringing homeschool students together from across the region for a memorable night of music, dancing, and connection.
Hosted annually at the Troy Rec, the event has grown into one of the most anticipated homeschool celebrations in the area.

About the Miami Valley Homeschool Prom
The Miami Valley Homeschool Prom began in 2008 with a simple idea: give homeschool students the chance to experience a traditional prom night of their own.
It all started when a local homeschool senior shared that prom was the one high school experience she felt she was missing. With the support of her parents and the surrounding homeschool community, that idea quickly turned into something real. The first Miami Valley Homeschool Prom was held in the fall of 2008 at the Troy Rec, and it has remained here ever since (with the exception of one year during facility renovations—though after prom still took place at the Rec).
For the first nine years, the prom was organized and hosted through School on the Rock Homeschool Co-op. As the co-op stepped back from continuing the event, they entrusted the Troy Rec to carry it forward as part of our programming.
Since then, the prom has continued to grow into a long-standing tradition—bringing together homeschool students from across the Miami Valley for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and community.
What started as a small community effort has become a yearly tradition that continues to evolve while staying rooted in the same purpose: creating a space where homeschool students can celebrate together.
